Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Marea Scale Models collects, why we collect it, and the care we take with it. We keep data to a minimum, we never sell it, and we never send spam.
1Who we are
Marea Scale Models (“Marea”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, email us at wave@mareascalemodels.com.
2What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and to prepare and deliver a commission: the details you choose to send us, such as your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, the vessel and project details you describe, and any plans or photographs you upload. When you reach us on WhatsApp, your message and number arrive through WhatsApp. We do not ask for, or want, any sensitive personal information.
3How your message and quote details are handled
When you send the “Send us a message” form or a quote request, your details are delivered to us by email and kept in our inbox so we can reply and prepare your quote. They pass through our form service and our email host purely so they reach us. We use them only to respond to you and to carry out any commission you go on to place. We do not add you to a mailing list.
4Analytics and cookies
We measure visits with privacy first, cookieless analytics that count page views without identifying you and without following you around the web. There are no advertising trackers and no cross site profiling, and because nothing for tracking is stored, the site shows no cookie banner. Your browser may keep small preferences, such as your chosen currency, to make your next visit smoother; these stay on your device.
5Why we are allowed to use your data
Where the law asks for a basis, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract, on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running our studio, and on your consent where you have given it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6Who we share data with
We share your data only with the providers that help us run the studio, namely our website host, our form and email providers, and, once a commission proceeds, the courier who delivers your model. They act on our instructions. We never sell your data and we never share it for marketing.
7How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and commission records only for as long as there is a real need, such as supporting your build, honouring our guarantees and meeting our legal and tax duties, after which we delete or anonymise them.
8Sending data outside the UK
Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on providers that offer recognised safeguards, such as approved contractual protections, so your data stays protected wherever it travels.
9Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. To make a request, email wave@mareascalemodels.com and we will reply within the time the law allows. If you are in the United Kingdom and remain unhappy, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
10Children
Our work is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the studio grows or the law changes; the version shown here is always the one in force. Last updated on 19 June 2026.
